MODEL MAKER metal or wax

Lighthouse moon over Boon Most of the towers were turned on a small metal lath, other designs are carved into charcoal a mold is made, and then a wax is pulled. I then add and removed wax to reach the basic design and cast it in silver. Each piece is then worked with metal working tools until the design is finished. A mold is made and a test casting is finished and the mold delivered.

Here we see 2 molds one is a tree of small flowers and the other is a shank onto which the flowers get attached. Parts may be made in many ways , a carving into charcoal blocks to create the moon and wave heart is the frame for the "I love you" light that was turned on a lath and a mold made, the wax pulled is placed in the frame and the stone set is made, the wax is cast and a final mold is made so that it can make large numbers of the light house.
Some of the parts designs that I have made , molds are made and waxes pulled. The wax parts like flowers, little creatures, and leaves are then put together with ring shanks, or bracelets to make the final "one of a kind" design which is cast in silver or gold..
Some of the parts molds on the wax table where I pull the small parts that I use to make "one of a kind" more complex pieces. In this way my rings are too complex to copied.
